Jai Mummy Di Movie Review: Sunny Singh and Sonnalli Seygall’s film is a snoozefest | Bollywood Life

It’s a rather dull week at the movies with a couple of Hollywood flicks and one Hindi release. Jai Mummy Di, starring Sunny Singh and Sonnalli Seygall, releases this week. As we saw in the promos, it’s a take on two warring mothers and their children who fall in love. Here is our review of the film…Related StoriesJai Mummy Di actress Sonnalli Seygall: People are excited to see me and Sunny Singh (EXCLUSIVE)Movie this week: Jai Mummy DiJai Mummy Di song Lamborghini: Sunny Singh and Sonnalli Seygall’s revamped foot-tapping track retains the essence of the originalWhat is it about Saanjh (Sonnalli Seygall) and Punit (Sunny Singh) are childhood sweethearts. He’s a shy guy and she’s a firebrand. The daring girl decides to propose to him, but he refuses. The reason is obvious. Their moms, who live in the same neighborhood, cannot see eye to eye. They decide to get engaged elsewhere but the love is still there. Will they be able to resolve the issue and get married? What is hot… Sunny Singh puts in an earnest performance, but we have seen him do a lot better. Poonam Dhillon and Supriya Pathak Kapur are in good form. The film captures the life of the Delhi NCR region in a nice manner. The new Lamborghini track is good. Mummy Nu Pasand is also nice. Sonnalli looks good on screen. What is not… We have seen quite a few comedies centered around Delhi, so there is a sense of deja vu. Navjot Gulati fails to add spunk to a wafer-thin plot. The one-liners lack humour and you cannot blame the actors for it. The enmity between the mothers is shown at a superficial level, and it just does not entertain you. We have seen rom-coms with threadbare plots, but good dialogues have kept them going. Sonnalli does her best, but comes across as too sophisticated for the role.BL Verdict Sunny Singh is a good actor and it is unfortunate to see his talent being so underutilized in the film. Jai Mummy Di is not funny and totally pointless.Rating :1.5 out of 5ByUrmimala BanerjeePublished: January 16, 2020 9:55 PM ISTFollow us onGoogle NewsJai Mummy DiSonnalli SeygallSunny Singh Comments – Join the Discussion
